Window cleaning in Lodz
A window is 40 zł, and after building work 50 zł. The price covers the glass on both sides, the frame, the seals and the sill. Where it gets misread is the counting: we charge per sash, not per opening.
Why per sash
Because the work is exactly as much as there is glass. A modern single-frame window has one sash and two faces. An old box window in a Lodz tenement has two sashes one behind the other, so four panes, plus the space between them where most of the dirt collects. Counting that as one window would mean somebody else paying for it.
What a flat comes to
A two-room flat in a block on Retkinia usually has three windows and a balcony door — 160 zł. A three-room flat on Teofilow, 200 zł. A tenement flat with five box windows, 400 zł. Ordering windows alone is subject to the 135 zł minimum, which a whole flat exceeds anyway.
When to book
Twice a year: in March after the heating season, and in September. On Baluty and along the busy streets of the centre the sensible interval shortens to three months, because the glass collects soot from low-level emissions that plain water does not remove.
What we do not do
We do not work at height outside the building: no ladders against the facade, no lifts, no rope access. Windows are cleaned from inside the flat or from the balcony only. We do not remove security grilles, external shutters or permanently fixed insect screens, and we do not adjust fittings or replace putty.
What will and will not come off
Ordinary streaking, dust and rain marks come off. Limescale sunk into the fine cracks of old glass sometimes does not, and paint left after the frames were repainted is post-renovation work at 50 zł a sash rather than ordinary cleaning.
