Mattress cleaning in Lodz

A mattress is the one piece of furniture you are in contact with for a third of every day and the one you cannot put in a washing machine. One side or two

If you flip the mattress as the maker recommends, two surfaces are genuinely in use and the two-sided variant makes sense. If it has lain the same way up for years, the underside is practically clean and paying for it is a waste. Check the label: some mattresses have a clearly marked summer and winter side, and then both have been in use.

What goes with a mattress

The headboard at 120 zł. It collects hair grease and dust in exactly the same way and cannot be taken off and washed at home. The rug beside the bed at 10 zł per square metre. A bedroom is one room and dust circulates between all its textiles at once, so cleaning the mattress alone gives an incomplete result.

What we do not clean

Water mattresses. Memory foam mattresses where the maker forbids wet cleaning; we check the label before starting. We do not take off zipped covers for machine washing and we do not remove stains that have gone through the full thickness: the surface will be clean but the trace stays inside.

How often

Twice a year with one-sided cleaning, once with two-sided. With a dust mite allergy, twice regardless of the variant, ideally in spring and autumn when the bedding changes weight anyway.

How long it takes to dry

Four to six hours for a single mattress, up to ten for a double cleaned on both sides. Bedding goes back on only once it is completely dry: moisture trapped under a sheet creates a smell that was not there before.

A mattress in a rented flat

This is the item the next tenant does not see but does notice. With nightly lets a sensible rhythm is once a quarter; with long lets, at every change of tenant. In both cases it is worth pairing the mattress with the headboard: together they clear the minimum order and close the whole bedroom in one visit.

Does the mattress have to come off the bed?

No, as long as there is access from three sides and it can be turned for the two-sided variant.

Will the dust mites come back?

Yes, that is natural. Cleaning reduces the population, which is why it is repeated periodically.

Will you remove yellow discolouration?

We will lighten it. Full removal depends on how deep it went and how long it was there.
