Window cleaning in Bałuty, Lodz

Bałuty splits into two halves when it comes to windows. In the blocks of Radogoszcz and Teofilów the joinery is modern, single-frame and repeatable, so the quote is predictable to the zloty. In the tenements along Zgierska and Limanowskiego there are still box windows, and those we count differently.

What it costs in a block of flats

40 zł per window, which covers the glass on both sides, the frame and the sill. A typical two-room flat in Radogoszcz has three windows plus a balcony door, so 160 zł. A three-room flat in Teofilów comes to 200 zł. Windows ordered on their own are subject to the minimum order of 135 zł, which a whole flat always exceeds.

What it costs in a tenement

We count sashes, not openings: a box window with two sashes is two items at 40 zł, because there are four panes to wash rather than two. This is the most common reason a form estimate differs from the final bill, and it is why we ask about the type of joinery when you book.

Balconies and loggias

In the blocks built in the seventies almost every flat has a balcony or a loggia, and many of them are glazed in. Glazing means extra panes, counted the same way, by sash. Cleaning the balcony itself is a separate 30 zł and is usually ordered together with the windows, because it happens in the same part of the flat.

When to book

Twice a year: in March, after the heating season, and in September. In Bałuty there is a specific reason for this. The district has the largest amount of housing with individual heating in the city, so in winter the panes collect soot from low-stack emissions, which water alone will not take off.

What we do not do

We do not work at height from outside the building: no ladders against the façade, no lifts, no rope access. Windows are cleaned only from inside the flat or from the balcony. We do not remove grilles, external shutters or permanently screwed insect screens.

A whole flat rather than a single window

In Lodz people rarely order one window cleaned. With a minimum order of 135 zł it makes no financial sense. The usual arrangement is every window in the flat at once, sometimes with the balcony, once or twice a year. One visit then closes the subject for six months.

How long it takes

Four windows take about an hour. A full three-room flat in Teofilów takes an hour and a half to two hours, including the sills and mopping up the water underneath.

Will you remove hard water deposits?

Ordinary streaks, yes. Limescale fused into the micro-scratches of old glass is sometimes impossible to remove.
