Ironing in Lodz

Ironing in Lodz costs 45 zł per hour of work and we do it at the customer's home. We bill time rather than pieces, because a linen shirt and a cotton T-shirt are two entirely different tasks, and counting them the same would be unfair to one side or the other.

What fits into an hour

• eight to ten cotton shirts
• a dozen or so T-shirts and knitwear items
• five linen pieces
• three double bedlinen sets

For a first order it is better to overestimate the time: a surplus can go on other household tasks, while a shortfall means things left in the basket.

What is on your side

The board and the iron. We do not carry our own ironing equipment, and there is a reason: an unfamiliar iron on a favourite shirt is a risk we do not want to take. Items should be washed and dry, as we do not do laundry.

When it makes sense

After a holiday, when a full suitcase comes back. In households where ironing is the one task postponed indefinitely. In flats let by the night, where the bedlinen has to look like a hotel's rather than straight out of the dryer. And before larger family occasions, when a dozen items have to be ready at once.

How to combine it with cleaning

The cheapest arrangement is to add ironing to a cleaning visit: the team does the flat and devotes the last hour to ironing. You then do not pay separately for travel and everything fits into one order. Ironing on its own can also be booked, but the minimum order of 135 zł applies, which is three hours.

What we do not iron without asking

Silk, wool and items with heat-applied appliqués are touched only after checking the label, and if in doubt we ask. One wrong iron setting ruins a fabric irreversibly; we would rather lose a minute on a question than answer for a scorched shirt. We do not iron suits with fused interlinings or garments labelled do not iron.

Bedlinen in nightly-let flats

This is the most common reason for booking ironing on its own in Lodz. A double set takes about twenty minutes, so one hour closes three sets together with the pillowcases. With several flats it is worth writing this permanently into the service schedule rather than ironing in a rush between guests.

How to prepare the items

Gather them in one place and separate what is to be hung from what is to be folded. The time then goes on ironing rather than on searching and sorting, which with a pile spread across three rooms can take a quarter of the visit.
